Recount Writing - Going to my Dad's.

Going to my Dads.

On Sunday me, my brother and

my sister went to my Dad’s house

with my mum to have a weekend with my dad.

First we had a Kai. We had boil up.

We had greens and meat and doughboys.

It was very yum and sweet.

Then we had a shower. 

Next we watched TV with my Dad. We watched rugby.

The game was Kiwis against Tonga. Lucky the Kiwis won.

Everybody thought it was an amazing game.

After that my dad let me on his phone and I played subway surf.

I got heaps of scores. It was cool.

Finally we did a surprise for my nana and

papa’s birthday. We got them presents and my other

papa made a cake.

I thought the presents were amazing.

They got a beautiful blanket and heaps of books.

The cake was a very yummy chocolate cake.

I felt amazed and happy.

WAL about rotational symmetry.

Pinwheels

We made pinwheels. When they spin the still have symmetry.

If you make a small pinwheel it spins faster.    

A bigger pinwheel got stuck on the handle.

It was too floppy.

If you put a fan in front of the pinwheel it spins faster.

If you use a bead for a spacer the pinwheel won’t

get stuck on the handle.

So that’s why I think we should do homework every day.

We need to learn at school and at home.

Scratch Junior

I love coding with Scratch Junior.

It is fun following the instructions on the cards

and getting your characters to move.

I like my animations.

They are cool.

Matariki Star

Whaea Annie showed us how to weave a Matariki Star.

We listened to the instructions on a video.

It was very hard. I had to listen carefully.

Science: Pulleys.

We made a pulley to get Mr Grinlings lunch from his house to

the lighthouse.

Pulleys are machines that make work easier.

How many words can I write in ten minutes?

At the start of the term I could write 31 words in ten minutes.

Now I can write 74 words.

Coding with Scratch Junior.

I have been learning to code with Scratch Jr.

I also had to follow Whaea Tania's instructions to 

screencastify my animation.

Persuasive Writing

WALT use the correct structure and language for Persuasive Writing.

Brushing teeth

Teeth are important to chew food.

So I think we should brush our teeth every day.

Firstly I think we should brush our teeth every day

so that our teeth get strong and healthy

so that our teeth do not get rotten.

By brushing our teeth we are washing away

the bacteria on our teeth then they can be healthy and strong.

Secondly  I think we should brush our teeth every day

so our teeth get clean and nice.

When you brush your teeth you get the

leftover food and the germs out of your mouth

so it’s nice and clean.

So that’s why  I think we should brush our teeth every day.
