Something Vanished

 



His hands fell on his hips while he was asking his dog ¨where are my socks¨?.


His face fell on the ground  when his dog replied and said ¨i don't know where they are¨.


His voice sounded like a demon when he said ¨where are my sock¨!

He looked confused as his eyebrows narrowed and he asked his papa ¨Do you know where my socks are?¨.


His shoulders sink to the ground while he excitedly asked papa ¨Are my sock in the laundry?¨.


We were learning about how to show without telling the readers what the story is about. We watched a video about Show Don´t Tell.

I really enjoyed talking about the action of the characters in the story and learning about show don´t tell.

Next time I need to use better words instead of rookie words.Such as awsome adjectives and vivid verbs.

SHOW DON´T TELL

 

WALT to make inferences about the characters.


We were learning about show don't tell and making inferences about a character.


Timo´s face looked like he was taking a trip down memory lane for his shorts.

His shoulders dropped when he was looking for his shorts at the gate.

Timo stood by the gate speechless when he realised his shorts were lost.

I found it easy to talk about Timo´s face, body and voice. I was decribing the way his face, body and voice showed how he was feeling.

I really enjoyed talking about Timo´s reactions and feelings and what he might be thinking.

Epro 8

On Thursday Miss Lesoa put Room 6 in groups of 3 and 4. 


My group was Manuera, Ziggy, Devontae and me. We had to make a dog kennel with a roof and floor but the kennel had to be over 500mm high and it was 700mm wide 400mm long because the dog was 500mm high. 


So me and my group got 15 ten points because we got to criteria 3 and just finished the braces. 


I found it hard to do the roof because we had to try and make it a triangle shape.


I found it easy to do the braces and the floor because it was easy to bolt up.


Next time we should be a little bit faster and not play around.


I really enjoyed doing epro 8 in that block because I like to build things like my dad.

The Gods

This week we have been learning about movie making useing  WeVideo. We learned different camera angles you can use in your movies to make them more interesting.We learned how to edit our videos useing WeVideo.We used the cutting funtion to cut out the peaces that we did not need.Some of us even added audio to our movies.
I found it easy to get the camera angles right and even record my action for on my movie.
I found it challenging to get the timing right and even good lighting and the sound because we could hear the other students in the background.
I really enjoyed making these movies on WeVideo because it lookes like you actually went through the walls and teleport to other places.
Next time we could try working a bit slower so we can make our movie more interesting for the other people that are watching.

He aha tenei

 


We were learning about written descriptions with visual images and communicating what people or things are doing.

First we looked at the slide and practiced reading the sentences.

Secondly we found pictures of the matching sentences.

Thirdly we went outside to do our voice recording for He aha tenei.

Fourthly we inserted the voice recording on the he aha tenei slide.

I really enjoyed doing the voice recording and doing the slide about he aha tenei.

Next time I need to talk more confidently in my audio recording.

MY Digital Day

 


We are learning about how we advertise ourselves online.

We talked about only posting things online that keep us safe.We  learned how tagging photos and posts make it easier to find out about  someone,so we need to be careful about our posts contents.

We created a DLO showing our Digital Day.

Firstly we had to go on a google drawing.

Secondly we had to push ctrl H to look at our history.

Thirdly we had to find the icon photo.

Next we had to post it on our blog.

Recess

We were learning to write a persuasive writing with fantastic language future the recess was about if morning tea should go longer or not. 

I believe that recess should go for longer. We can practice more sports,get some fresh air and play more with our friends.


Firstly, me and my friends will always play sports at morning tea and lunch.We play basketball,soccer and rugby. We like to practice and we enjoy playing together. 


Secondly recess should go for longer so me and my friends get some fresh air so we can calm down if we are angry. It is a well known fact that fresh air calms people down which can change your attitude.


Thirdly, recess should go for a longer time so me and my friends can spend more time together. We always learn more things from each other which helps build strong relationships. 


This is why I strongly believe that recess should be extended so we can practice sports in the fresh air with my friends.

I found it easy to to make the sentences make sense.

I found it hard to put my sentences in the right place.

I really enjoyed writing this text because it was talking about if recess should go for longer or not.

Next time I need to write more thing that makes people want to  read thins text.

Blake.NZ.VR

 


Last term Blake NZ visited. 
We learned about marine Reserves.
We were able to use VR sets to explore the oceans.

I found it easy to learn about marine reserves because the VR sets made the learning more interesting. It made me feel like I was diving under the water.
I really enjoyed looking at the amazing sea animals and learning about marine reserves.

Clickety-Clack-Cicada


We have been learning about language features during Literacy. The way we have been doing this is by reading and understanding poems. 

Some of the features we identified in the poems are metaphors, verbs, onomatopoeia, and adjectives. 

This week we read Clickety-Clack Cicada by Jill Brasell.

I found it easy to locate the language features like Metaphors,Verbs,Onomatopoeia and adjective.     

I found it hard to understand the language features when we were reading the poem Clickety-Clack-Cicader.

I really enjoyed reading the metaphor in the poem because it make things more interesting.

Next time I need to try and use different metaphor in my own writing.

In this poem the author used metaphor to compare bread to cloud 

I found it easy to to write the verb and adjectives in this poem the verb the that I found was dampen and that means make less strong or intense.

I found it hard to do the patterns because I was doing maori patterns

I really enjoyed drawing the the maori patterns because it look so cool.

Next time I need to I will color the pattern that I drawed..

Pac man matua matt

Pac Man


After karakia and before the rain started we had a small window of sunlight. My class played Pac man. So Matt picked iroam to explain the game. So this is what you had to do, you had to pick a block, then you had to pick a spot in the yellow Square to stand. So the person that was and they had to step on a block that was not stepped on by the other people so the other people had to move around to not let the person step on the block we played this game to get our brains on so we could do some work. When we played that game I was confident to play this game. It was pity hard and tall. We played for a little bit then it was easy then it started to rain so we had to come back inside.


When we finish the game we had to write about the game on a doc 

 

The rules:

To not put the blocks in your pocket.

Not stand on two blocks.

To not yell at people if you do the wrong thing.

Do not jump to the other block if you're already on one block.

To not make fun of the people if they don’t know how to play properly.

Word Cloud The Race


We are learning to make connections and synthesizer what we have read. I read the story The Race and this is my word cloud that I made. We were looking for keywords in the text.

I found it easy to type the word in the word cloud that i made.

I found it hard to do the shape of the word cloud because you had to pick a picture then you make it smaller or bigger.

I really enjoyed making this word cloud at the same time even though it was hard.

Next time I will make it better by make\ing the typing clearer.

narrative writing

24.2.2021 WALT write a narrative using adjectives. One beautiful day mother horse took her ponies to the wonderful forest to look for lovely berries. Mother horse saw a big hungry tiger and she ran away from her ponies. Mother horse started limping and her leg looked sore. The huge tiger saw the horse but not the ponies. The angry tiger ran fast after the mother horse. Mother horse's leg was not sore so she booted the tiger and quickly galloped away

 We were learning about narrative. We had to write a narrative so we remade the story that we read. next we made a story board show the story.

I found it easy to type in the texts boxes because all you need to do is touch the text boxes then type.

I found it hard to to make the animals smaller and bigger and even looking for the animals that were in the story.

I really enjoyed making this storyboard that because you can make what ever you want and it is a lot of fun.

Next time I need to make story better and even make it look better than it is now so people will get more excited.

Digital Pepeha

We were learning about our pepeha so we knew it off by heart and so we could do it when we were doing our mihi.

I found it easy to do the voice recorder because all you have to do is say what you want to say then save it to your drive then put it on your work.

I found it hard to make the shapes in place and make it like a marae, maunga, awa and a waka so you need to go to the mask image and that's how you make shape.

I really enjoyed doing everything because i like doing my work because its so fun doing the mask image and the voice recorder.

Next time I need to make it in a better shape and make it so detail so it makes people impressed.

David walliamas

This week for reading we were talking about our reading group names author. We researched some facts about David Walliams because I am int he Walliams reading group.

I learned   that he has one child and he has written 26 books. I created a Google Drawing DLO showing what I learned about him. I also learned how to use the masking tool in Drawings to make shapes out of images.

What I like the most was doing the background the most challenging thing was doing the shapes to be in the write place.
